Chicken Biryani


  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • 1 cup coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/4 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 400 grams of meat
  • 250 grams of basmati rice


  • Add oil to the pad followed by cinnamon sticks, cloves and bay leaf
  • Saute the onions to golden brown in ghee and add ginger garlic paste, green chilies
  • Add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt
  • Add green chilies, mint, tomatoes and lemon juice
  • Add the soaked rice and let it cook
