Rajasthan Witnessed Landmark Infrastructure Push as PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth ₹17,000 Crore

Last month, on February 16th, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan” program, launching and dedicating critical infrastructure projects worth over ₹17,000 crore across the state. The program, held at 200 locations across Rajasthan, served as a testament to the government’s commitment to boosting the state’s development and improving lives of its citizens.

Strengthening Roadways:

Prime Minister Modi opened various National Highway projects valued at more than ₹5,000 crore, enhancing connectivity within the region. These included stretches of the Delhi-Mumbai Green Field Alignment, Udaipur Bypass, and projects in Jhunjhunu, Abu Road, and Tonk districts. Notably, these sections incorporated animal underpasses and overpasses, along with noise barriers, showcasing the government’s focus on wildlife conservation.

Boosting Rail Infrastructure:

Railways received a dedicated focus with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of eight projects worth ₹2,300 crore. These included electrification of key routes like Jodhpur-Bikaner and the development of Khatipura as a satellite station for Jaipur. Additionally, projects for maintenance facilities for Vande Bharat trains and doubling of rail lines aimed to modernize the state’s railway network, improve safety, and facilitate efficient movement of goods and people.

Harnessing Renewable Energy:

Taking a significant step towards renewable energy, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated solar projects worth ₹5,300 crore. These included large-scale solar power plants in Bikaner, utilizing cutting-edge technology and promoting “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” by incorporating high-efficiency modules manufactured in India. These projects will generate clean power, combat carbon emissions, and drive economic development in the region.

Improving Power Transmission:

To effectively utilize the generated solar power, projects worth over ₹2,100 crore were dedicated to the nation. These transmission systems will ensure smooth transmission of solar energy from its source to beneficiaries, maximizing its impact.

Providing Clean Drinking Water:

Highlighting the importance of clean drinking water, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹2,400 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission. These initiatives aim to strengthen infrastructure and provide individual household tap connections across Rajasthan, fulfilling the government’s commitment to water security.

Other Key Developments:

The program also witnessed the dedication of Indian Oil’s new LPG bottling plant in Jodhpur, promising employment generation and cater to the needs of lakhs of customers.

A Collective Effort for Progress:

With the participation of lakhs of beneficiaries, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, government officials, and local representatives, the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan” program showcased a united effort towards the state’s progress. By launching these crucial infrastructure projects, the government has embarked on a path to transform Rajasthan’s landscape, create opportunities for growth, and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
