A First-of-its-kind Executive Lounge facility has been opened for the benefit of passengers at Dr  MGR Central Railway Station.

Located on the main concourse near Platform No.6 of Dr MGR Central Railway station, the  Executive lounge is equipped with airport-like facilities and novel amenities. The contract has  been awarded to M/s. Ten 11 Hospitality for a period of 5 years for a total value of Rs. 17.75  crores. 

The modern Air-conditioned Executive lounge features state-of-the-art facilities as detailed  below:

∙ The executive lounge, designed to accommodate nearly 180 passengers, houses 112  single sofas and 10 recliners for individual comfort. Additionally, there are 18 single  sleeping pods and 4 double sleeping pods catering to both solo travelers and families. 

∙ The expansive dining area, equipped with 34 dining chairs, provides an inviting space  for passengers to indulge in the beverage cum snack stall. To cater to the diverse  preferences, a cyclic buffet offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options is made  available, ensuring a delightful dining experience for all passengers.

∙ The executive lounge features separate restrooms for gentlemen and ladies, providing  exclusive spaces for showering and changing. 

∙ Separate racks have been provided for placing luggage.

∙ The entry charge is Rs.200/ for one-hour stays with Free Wi-Fi and Tea/Coffee. The  entry charge for single sleeping pod is Rs.840/ for 3 hours with provision of water  bottle, special welcome drink, Wi-Fi, blanket, pillow and bed sheets. The charge varies  according to the facilities/duration and also comes as a package with a cyclic buffet. 

Thus, the new Executive lounge provides 24/7 haven with top-notch amenities such as air  conditioning, stylish sofa sets, travel desk, continuous Wi-Fi connectivity, and a de4lightful  beverage cum snack stall. This modern facility will benefit both incoming and outgoing  passengers to rest, relax and rejuvenate during their short stay at the station.
