It is heard that even the Mughal king Akhbar once came and enjoyed a meal with ordinary people in this Langar. There are no workers or special cooks for the preparation of food items. Men, women, and children volunteer to cook, serve, and clean as a service to mankind. Daily, this most extensive community kitchen in the world supposedly feeds over 100,000 people! The Door Of All To highlight the inclusive nature and universal existence of the Sikh philosophy, the temple is built with four open doors on the four sides, known as the Door of All, which welcome people from all parts and stages of life.  Akhand Path The temple premises is always filled with positive vibrations. The sacred verses from the holy scripture of Sikhism,- Guru Granth Sahib, are continuously chanted at the temple premises by the devotees. But the epic romance of Salim and Anarkali hides a treasure trove of lesser-known stories – from bathroom ballads to million-dollar melodies. Get ready to peek behind the curtain and discover the fascinating secrets that made this masterpiece truly unforgettable.  From Tragedy to Triumph: A Cast Changeup The film almost went up in smoke before it even flickered to life. Its journey began with a different cast, D.K. Sapru, Chandramohan, and Nargis. But a five-year hiatus occurred with the sudden demise of Chandramohan mid-shoot. Years later, a phoenix rose from the ashes. We got the unforgettable trio of Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and Madhubala who rewrote the film’s destiny with golden letters. Missed Mogul Moment: Zakir Hussain Near Mughal-E-Azam Role Picture a young Zakir Hussain, not just enchanting with his tabla but stealing hearts on screen as the young Prince Salim! Sayyad, spent two years replicating the actual structure inside Agra Fort. Bringing its mirrored splendor to life on the set showcases his dedication to detail. A Cinematic Triumph, But Not a Filmfare Favorite Despite its grandeur, Mughal-E-Azam faced surprising omissions at the Filmfare Awards. Director K. Asif lost to Bimal Royfor Parakh. Madhubala lost the Best Actress award to Bina Rai in Ghunghat. Even Dilip Kumar’s portrayal of the lovelorn Prince Salim couldn’t land him a nomination. And Prithviraj Kapoor, the emperor himself, couldn’t steal the Best Supporting Actor trophy from Motilal in Parakh. Naushad’s music was defeated by Shankar-Jaikishan’s Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai. A Dream Realized: Colorized for a New Generation K. Asif’s dream of seeing Mughal-e-Azam in full color remained unfulfilled during his lifetime. In 2004, a colorized version hit the big screen, with Dilip Kumar attending the premiere.  Mughal-E-Azam is more than just a film.
