4 South Indian Films for a Romantic Movie Marathon (Modern Love to Village Dreams)!

0 Planning to cuddle up on a cosy sofa with your partner to rewatch the romances? From Fidaa to Kumbalangi Nights, these South Indian movies have marvellously tailored romances with happy endings that leave the audience in the rhythmic beats of hope in love. If you’re looking for fairytalish romances to reignite your love, here’s the watchlist for you. O Kadhal Kanmani (2015) Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani, a Tamil romance that starred Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon, depicts modern love. Though the movie ended with a slap on the face of carefree audiences who support living together, OK Kanmani perfectly tailored the exquisiteness and excitement of love in a playful manner as well as the importance of pursuing one’s passion while bearing the pain of separation.  The movie shows “how even temporary separation can feel the pain and impatience to unite”. Fidaa (2017) Fidaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is a tale of love-hate relationship between a village girl named Bhanu (Sai Pallavi) and Varun (Varun Tej), an NRI student from USA. The movie highlights the struggles to confess, but despite the anger and fights fuelled by the eclipsed feelings, the lovers eventually unite. Unlike other typical romances, in this movie, it is the hero who sacrifices his dream life in the USA to settle with Bhanu to lead a village life.  Kumbalangi Nights (2019) Kumbalangi Nights directed by Madhu C. Narayanan is another fairytalish romance to rewatch this Valentine’s Day. The movie revolves around the stories of Bobby and Baby who struggle to unite because of Bobby’s wretched background, as well as the lives of four brothers who gradually bond despite the troubles of living in a debilitated house. The movie ended happily with Bobby and Baby Mol getting married while the family of Bobby bid farewell to the debilitation that haunted them.  Geetha Govindam (2018) Geetha Govindam is a feel-good romance by Parasuram that you can watch while sipping the evening coffee with your significant other. The movie highlights “how the lack of proper communication and confession can fuel misunderstandings”. The hero’s reluctance to marry Geetha even though he loved her dearly (due to misunderstandings) shows the importance of considering a healthy relationship where the love is equally reciprocated. But despite all the troubles, the movie ended happily with Vijay realising Geetha’s love and getting married to her.

Hearts of Gold: Family Fun and Activities for Valentine’s Day

0 Valentine’s is when we express our love for our significant other. But why restrict the day to lovers? Why not share the love with our friends and family? Whether having fun making greeting cards out of chart paper, making some Nutella-filled cookies, or just playing uno, there are many ways to celebrate love with your family. Of course, one thing you could always do, and everyone usually does, is to make cards. Get some chart papers, stickers, and glitter pens, and go crazy. Express your love in the card, and keep the cards close to your heart. Or, whip out some trays and flour and bake some sweets with your family! Bake some plain butter cookies, or heck, make some chocolate-covered strawberries! Whatever you do, make sure you have fun with your family, expressing your creativity. Or, how about getting moving? Compile a playlist with your family’s favorite songs, move the couch from the living room, and feel the rhythm in your muscles. Have a dance party with all your friends and family. Of course, remember the 80s romantic classics for your parents! Heck, go outside for a relaxing picnic or a hike? Pack some chips and cakes, get blankets, or even a thermos filled with hot tea. Find a place with some nice and warm weather and take in the beauty of the outdoors while spending time with family. For a family that would rather stay in (or, if it’s raining outside), have a movie marathon, and slump down on the couch. Choose some rom-coms to laugh over or dramas to awe about. Or, roll on the floor about the stupid soap operas on cable with the thousand PowerPoint presentation-like transitions. Remember to get the snacks and coke! And, of course, the entire reason why this day exists – express gratitude and love for your friends and family. Go out for a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant and share what you love about every one of them. It may sound easy and small, but stuff like this gets carved into someone’s heart forever, so it matters. At the end of the day, Valentine’s Day isn’t just about bonding romantically with your significant other; it’s beyond that. Dance like idiots in the living room, make some silly paper crafts, or just laze on the couch and laugh at the stupid soap operas; every second counts when you’re bonding with family, so this Valentine’s Day, cherish the relationships the closest to you.

Can Technology Help Us Fall in Love Faster? Maybe, But Should It?

0 Don’t you miss the days when you hit the club to find a lover, or, even better, become lovers with your childhood friend? Today, technology has changed all that and how we perceive relationships. While some argue it’s a toxic dating environment, the other side argues it’s a faster way to find the click. But is it a good thing? Read on to find out. Love’s Algorithm: A Match Made in Data Heaven? There’s no scope to deny that apps like Tinder and Bumble has entirely reshaped the relationship aspect of our lives. No more awkward conversations behind the school grounds. Now, we swipe our day away until we find someone mildly interesting. Are they really finding us our soulmates? The answer is as complicated as love. Anthropologists argue that the core of love stays the same, but these apps have changed how we express it. These days, communication has been narrowed down to the send button, and the connections are comprehensive. But then, the problem is being overwhelmed with all the choices. Everyone has been using these apps, putting a user in a paradox. Committing to one person is difficult when you find another more attractive. More options can make it easier to choose. This brings up the question – can love be sorted by an algorithm? Beyond the Algorithm: The Human Touch Still Matters Yes, technology, like connecting us with our friends and family, connects us to our lovers. But then, does it really matter if all you can do is talk? Real and meaningful connections need effort and intimacy, not video calling with someone a thousand miles away. The Ethical Dilemma of AI Love: Where Do We Draw the Line? One of the issues of depending on algorithms to fix your love life is the fear of heartbreak. These days, love has been narrowed down to physical intimacy, and the concept of “true love” is as good as it is gone. These days, situations have become a “cool trend” for many, but it’s emotionally and eventually physically damaging. Today, touch-starved people turn to AI chatbots to satisfy their needs. It’s repulsing, but it’s unfortunately the truth. Tech has changed the concept of love in some ways worse than others. But it’s up to us to use these conveniences correctly. We should prioritize genuine emotions and human connection over the adrenaline rush of scoring another date. Love is an intimate bond you’re supposed to make with the person who hits your heart right. It’s never the dates or the intimate pleasures that make love worth it, but the touch that makes it truly special.

The Science of Attraction: Colors and Styles That Will Make You Swoon

0 Let’s turn on the mood lights for today; you’re going on a date with the perfect person you’ve found, but you have no idea what to wear. Here is our advice: Stop rummaging in your already messy closet and read on to figure out how to make them fall for you; find just the right aesthetics to live in their heart and soul rent-free. Your body is the canvas, and the clothes are your paintbrushes. Here are ways to paint a picture of yourself that will drive your lover to swoon over you: Mastering the Art of Colors Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you wear, whether a casual biker outfit or a formal suit, if the colors don’t match! In this dance of love, colors are the melody, and you can’t do a waltz over heavy metal. Find your blues and jazz, experiment with colors, and do your homework. Dazzle in a kaleidoscope of hues that would help you communicate not to their ears but to their heart. Harnessing the Power of Style If colors are the melody, then the style is the chart. It’s not just about the notes but how you play them that matters. Wear some clothes that make you pop; heck, wear a leather jacket on top to seal the deal. Dress to impress. Find the tempo; determine the aesthetic. To get out of the way, style, color, and aesthetics aren’t the same. If the style is the chart, the color is the melody, then the aesthetic is the tempo. To craft a perfect piece, you must play the right notes in the right order at the right speed. What are your intentions on the date? Is it an aged wine and rotisserie chicken or an excellent coffee and sandwiches downtown kind of date? Embrace the casual: go Lo-Fi. Of course, clothes have genres, just like music. Sometimes, playing some lo-fi beats is best to chill out and go casual. Embrace wearing baggy shirts and ripped jeans. Become down-to-earth, be yourself.  Don’t be too dependent on what you’re wearing. Real talk? They love you for who you are, not what you wear. Remember the human; remember who you are beneath all those fancy blazers. That’s what your lover loves about you! Be confident in your skin. Remember, the natural beauty is inside of you. How does it matter if you wear red or pink when feeling blue? Your body is your instrument; play something soothing with your outfit. Let your soul speak for you, and create a tune that defines who you are, not what you want to be.

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, This Valentine’s, I Choose Me, Boo!

0 Here comes the Valentine’s week! A time when most couples rejoice and singles lament. But who said you can only celebrate love exclusively with your significant other? Expanding the definition of love is always possible by adding a dash of newness called – self-love. It’s the top contender for nurturing a deeper connection with oneself, a relationship that is the foundation for all other forms of love. So, ditch the mindset of being incapable of finding a lover and celebrate yourself for a change! Hold your horses; self-love ain’t the same as being self-centred; that’s a mistaken idea. The former is the road to complete healing. It silences our inner chaos, alleviates self-doubts, and helps us make peace with ourselves. Now, here are a few ways to celebrate self-love every day of the week: Monday: Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage. Heck, set up a DIY Spa at your home – have a relaxing bath, put on a face mask, listen to your favorite music, and lose yourself. Tuesday: Give that Bluetooth speaker a fair chance! Turn it on, and play your favourite song. Let your body, mind, and soul synch in with every tune. Acknowledge your strengths and vulnerabilities to celebrate yourself.  Wednesday: Tap into your creative knack. Creatively express yourself. Write a love letter to yourself, and put your favourite makeup on. Wear that jazzy outfit, or sing your heart out. Thursday:  Put away your phone, isolate yourself from distractions, and enjoy the quiet. Meditate, journal, or sit in the park for hours. Friday: Get all your friends and have a heart-to-heart with your family. Heck, volunteer in your community. Celebrate your non-romantic connections. Saturday: Hit the shelves and get a great book, create a cozy atmosphere, and lose yourself in the pages. (and the smell!) Sunday: Write down five things you love about yourself, and work on improving them! Find your intentions and strive for personal growth for continued self-love.

Beyond the Box of Chocolates: Gift Experiences They’ll Never Forget!

0 It’s that time of the year again – when friends turn into lovers, lovers turn into something more, and when you need to bust out your credit card to make her happy, Valentine’s week. We all know that gifts are expensive, not to mention the standards of gifting. But, put those boxes of chocolates down for a moment and consider gifting your significant other a good time instead of a good thing. Here are ways to celebrate Valentine’s week without burning a hole through your pockets. Finding Affordable Destinations Hey, now, affordable does not mean cheap. Travelling with a light budget doesn’t mean degrading the quality of your date. Hold on momentarily and scour the internet – find out where the buzz is. Find famous tourist spots that could work as a great romantic evening. Depending on the location, you could go to a remote area, which is beautiful and very affordable. So, do your homework! Embracing the Spirit of Adventure Travelling for a date can be educational, too! By choosing a budget area, you can learn a lot about the world’s various cultures with your significant other. Instead of booking a 5-star hotel in Paris, consider hikes and explorations. From picnics to camps and exploring the people’s cultures, peacefulness can be an incredible journey. Maximizing Savings with Smart Planning Boats are maintained before being put in the water to ensure they don’t leak, so why not plan your trips before everything goes south? Take advantage of budget airlines and book hotels through platforms that give you discounts – make sure your boat doesn’t sink before it sails. Heck, cook your food with your significant other – bond over cooking with locally produced ingredients. Cherishing Simple Pleasures Maybe they want to spend time with you and don’t care where. Sure, try to ensure you have fun with your love, but remember that small gestures send the “I love you” for you. Whether it’s a homemade meal at a homestay, heck, or even stargazing on the terrace of some building, bonding also happens in these little moments. Sometimes, the small things leave the biggest mark. This Valentine’s Day, consider adopting the attitude of affordable travel and embarking on a voyage of affection and discovery with your important companion.
