“Try Amazing No-Fire Recipes, this Diwali”

0

Riya was thrilled with happiness! It’s Diwali. She will make snacks for her family and friends. This time, her friends are visiting her. ‘Everything should be delicious.’ She thought.

‘But what should I cook for them?’ She had no idea at first, but after a few minutes, she decided to cook some dishes without using fire. She started by gathering and arranging all the ingredients on the table.

Riya washed her hands and rinsed the fruits she got from a nearby shop. ‘You should always cook with happiness and love”, she remembered her mom’s words. A smile captured her face, and she started making the first dish for this year’s Diwali celebration!

The Luminous Fruit Beano

Ingredients

Fresh, colorful fruits such as apples, bananas, chikku, mangoes and pomegranate

One teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Required amount of honey ( 1 or 2 tablespoon)

Lemon juice from half of the lemon.

Preparation

She cut the fruits carefully and made small fruit chunks. The fruit mixture gave a burst of colors and filled the bowl harmoniously. Then Riya took a small bowl and mixed two tablespoons of honey with cinnamon powder.

She gently sprinkled the honey-cinnamon mixture on the fruits, followed by the lemon juice. The fruit pieces were soaked in the golden honey mixture, creating a lustrous glaze. She topped the salad with more pomegranate seeds and basil leaves to add some aroma and crunchiness. The sweet and sour Fruit Beano was ready to adorn the serving bowls.

Riya wanted to add some crunchy, nutty texture to the treat. So she decided on another recipe.

No Bake Diwali Golden snack balls

Ingredients

Nuts in equal quantities ( Cashew, Badam, Pistachio, Walnut )

A cup of dried fruits ( Dates, apricots, figs)

A pinch of saffron and cardamom powder

Four tablespoons of honey

Four tablespoons of clarified ghee

Powdered sugar

Preparation

She chopped the dry fruits and nuts into small bites and mixed them. Then, she took a glass bowl and combined the nut-fruit mixture with powdered sugar. Cardamom powder and saffron strands were added to spice up the mixture by adding more aroma. To add more richness, and make it delectable, she poured some ghee into the mixture. Finally, she gently added the honey to bind it together. As she mixed the ingredients, a pleasant aroma spread all over, filling her mind with the light of the favors of this festive season.

Riya scooped out small portions from the mixture and rolled them carefully into equal-sized balls. She garnished them with edible golden sheets to add a golden sparkle to each piece. The golden bites were ready for the treat. Riya kept them in the refrigerator to make them set before serving.

Both the dishes Riya made were ready to serve, narrating a heartwarming tale of love and harmony for this Diwali.

Wish you a happy Diwali!
