We’ve all heard of Dubai and some of us have even been to Dubai and other countries in the Emirates. But have you heard of the elder siblings of Saudi Arabia? AlUla is one of the oldest cities in Saudi Arabia, and has been a crucial cultural crossroads for well ofer 2,00,000 years!

Although AlUla is old and rich, it has been one of the least travelled cities in the world, and tourism in the city has been largely active only since 2019, thus, making it the perfect tourist spot for all the wanderlusts who love exploring hidden cities and countries. AlUla is renowned for its ancient architectures, and its human and natural heritages.

From well-preserved tombs, sandstone outcrops, historic residences, monuments to outstanding natural beauty, this city is home to one of the UNESCO world heritage sites, the Hegra, celebrated for its astonishingly well-preserved tombs and sandstone outcrops that just send chills down your spine with awe.

Best time to visit AlUla would be between October and April for that pleasant outdoor experience. Fly to Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Airport (ULH) and hail a taxi or rent a car to reach the city. Opt to stay at some of their aesthetically pleasing, traditional desert camps for that once in a lifetime experience!

Some of the mandatory checks in AlUla are the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Madain Saleh (Al-Hijr), the Elephant Rock, and the stunning rock formations at AlUla Old Town, desert safari in the sand dunes and tasting authentic Saudi Arabian local delicacies!
